Uncovering the Hidden

Today I am an excavator. It’s like I’m in the grown up version of a children’s museum, and I’ve got all my tools and I don’t know what they’re called, but I’m using them to uncover hidden, old things. Buried treasure.

I get excited when I start to dig, but I’m reminded every time how much ground I’ve got left to cover. And some objects go into the pile of mysteries. Lost treasures. Like this Olympus Digital Voice Recorder. I finally find this little computer tool, a mini USB to regular USB converter, so I can transfer the files onto my computer, and add them to the piles of gathered material. I started with 5 digital voice recorders. So far, two of them have no files.  Were they erased sometime in the last 15 years? The dates are set to 2002. Sometime, between now and then, were their contents ever transferred? Is there a record? Or did these devices sit too long?
